Unusual Attitude and Spin Recovery Training
The WVFC Unusual Attitude and Spin Recovery Training Course is designed to give any pilot hands on experience in recovering from a series of unusual attitudes and accelerated maneuvers. The course incorporates both ground and flight instruction and will give pilots additional confidence in their everyday flying.
Training hours can be applied toward a Tailwheel checkout
Prerequisites: none
3 Flight hours will include:
Situational awareness
Full flight control through stalls
Spin development & recovery (Basic-advanced)
Inverted flight attitudes
Spirals
Unusual Attitude Recovery
2-3 Ground lessons will cover:
Airspeeds/ Airspeed management
Unusual Attitude Recoveries
Spin fundamentals
Applied aerodynamics

Hazardous situation review
Parachute basics

*Cost of aircraft is fixed; total cost is based on $60/hr instruction rate & completion of training within specified program hours.

Aerobatic Profiency Training
The WVFC Aerobatic Proficiency Program allows the pilot to gain coordination & confidence in primary aerobatics. Allowing the pilot to perform fundamental aerobatics maneuvers and routines. With the appropriate checkouts, the pilot will then be able to rent WVFC aircraft for solo aerobatic flight in the Decathlon**.
Training hours can be applied toward Tailwheel checkout /
High performance endorsement (HP Pitts only)
Prerequisites: Applicable time in make/model or Upset Program
7 Flight hours will include:
Coordination exercises
Spins: upright & inverted
Aileron & snap rolls
Vertical rolls
Gyroscopic maneuvers
Straight & level inverted flight
Inverted turns to left & right
Wedges
Split S
Loops/Roll combinations (1/2 Cuban, Immelman, 1/2 loop up)
Hammer Heads
Tail slides
Aerobatic sequences
Landings
5-6 Ground lessons will de-brief your flights and cover:
Review of basics
Airspeed/Energy management
Unusual Attitudes
Spins
Aircraft Systems
Hazardous situation review
Parachute basics

Intermediate Aerobatics
By the end of the course the pilot will be able to perform competition level aerobatics maneuvers and aerobatic routines. With the appropriate checkouts the pilot will then be able to rent WVFC aircraft for solo aerobatic flight**.
Training hours qualify as a high performance endorsement
Prerequisites: Applicable time in make/model or Proficiency Program and 50 hrs Tailwheel as PIC, 125 hrs total time

Upright/Inverted flat spins
Accelerated Spins
Knife edge spins
Crossover spins
Tumbling maneuvers (Lomcevaks, Right Rights..)
Humpty Bump

Gyroscopic maneuvers
