40th Anniversary Event - September 20, 2012

First established in August 1972, West Valley Flying Club celebrated 40 years on the evening of September 20th, 2012.  A classic Hawaiian style Luau was the theme for the event, and approximately 200 members, friends, and family attended.  Two guest speakers set the tone for the evening.  Shirley Upham, one of the two original founders of the club, spoke about the early days and how things worked back in 1972.  Craig Fuller, President of AOPA, then talked about the importance of flying clubs to the GA community and that by being around for 40 years West Valley Flying Club "must be doing something right".  A special thanks to staff members Noelle Flaker and Ashley Porath for arranging such a great event in honor of the past 40 years.
