West Valley Flying Club
West Valley Flying Club is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing well-equipped, excellent flight instruction, professionally maintained rental aircraft at reasonable cost. With our size and diversity, West Valley is determined to be the only place you ever need to join. As your flying needs evolve, we still fit, from student pilot to commercial pilot to instructor, from rentor to owner, from recreational to business flying. The Club began in 1972 with two airplanes in Palo Alto and has grown to more than 80 aircraft and 4 locations, including everything from basic trainers and tailwheels to high performance single- and multi-engine and aerobatic aircraft. West Valley is the organization you need it to be, whether you're considering your first flight, looking to get your Instrument rating, CFI or other advanced rating, or looking for a great place to get your plane serviced. West Valley has produced thousands of safe, responsible pilots over its 30 years. We do it with high quality instructors, in planes that range from inexpensive to the latest avionics, with a great Maintenance organization, in a Club atmosphere that allows you to learn on your own or with others - at your option. Our programs are geared to your pace and schedule, and take you step by step through the process of learning to fly. No hard sell, no hassle, just solid, safe skill development, leading to your FAA rating. Some of the programs we customize to your needs are:

Private Pilot - the basic Visual Flight Rules (VFR) license to fly
Instrument Rating - to build sharper skills and allow flight in less than VFR conditions
Commercial Rating - for increased skill levels and career pilots or those considering one
CFI (Certificated Flight Instructor) - license to provide flight instruction
Multi-Engine Rating - the basic rating for a multi-engine pilot
