Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor? I enjoy working with pilots and aspiring pilots to acheive their goals and to become safe pilots.
How long have you been instructing? Since 2001.
Do you tend to favor PAO or SQL, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time? PAO
How would you describe your availability in general? Two weekdays open on Schedule Master and weekends by appointment.
What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus? For the knowledge test I find most of my clients prefer online courses.
What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in? I am impartial, I enjoy them all.
What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student? I recommend the C172S because it introduces a student to newer avionics, but at the same time presents classic flight instruments. The student is exposed to both worlds.
What percentage of your students pass their checkride on the first try? Five students since 2001 had to take a second checkride and each passed their ride.
Additional Comments: I enjoy helping pilots transition to new aircraft and to new avionics. Training pilots to use modern technology is important, but I also believe that good stick and rudder skills are important. |
