Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor? I find teaching people to fly a uniquely rewarding experience and believe in tailoring flight training to the needs of the student. Whether training new pilots for their Private certificate or conducting checkouts in advanced high performance airplanes my goal is to produce safe and confident pilots with the knowledge and skills to deal with real world flying.
How long have you been instructing? I have been flying since 2001, and instructing since 2011. Do you tend to favor PAO or SQL, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time? I have no preference. Both airports work equally well.
How would you describe your availability in general? Excellent. I have no "blackout dates" and can accommodate most schedules.
What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus? While some students choose to attend WVFC ground school, others prefer books, DVDs, online courses, or one-on-one tutoring. I will adjust flight syllabus to complement ground training method selected by the student. What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in? Cessna 172SP or Piper PA28-181. Both are excellent training aircraft with reliable engines, good ergonomics, and docile flying manners. What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student? I suggest trying high-wing (e.g. Cessna 172) and low-wing (e.g. Piper Warrior) aircraft, and selecting whichever the student feels most comfortable in. What percentage of your students pass their checkride on the first try? 100% so far, and I would like to keep it that way:) Additional Comments: Flying is an amazing activity. It
combines the challenge of perfecting a new skill with an unparalleled
sense of freedom and accomplishment. Learning to fly can result in a
rewarding career, new friendships, unforgettable vacations, and a
valuable asset to your business. If you have been thinking about
learning to fly or enhancing your flying skills, please fell free to
call or email me to discuss your goals. |
