Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?

Teaching to fly is for me a way to share a passion. Flying is a thrill, it is fun, it is an adventure, it is contagious and I would love to show that to you. Please visit my site to find out why you should learn to fly.

How long have you been instructing?
I have been flying for 20 years and instructing in Palo Alto and San Carlos since 2012.

Do you tend to favor PAO or SQL, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time?
Both airports

How would you describe your availability in general?
I teach full time and am available all days of the week.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
I usually direct students self-study using ASA, Jeppesen or FAA books, however many choose ground school offered at WVFC.

What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in?
Cessna 172, Cirrus SR20 or SR22 and a Citabria.

What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student?
Cessna 172 is the most common training aircraft. Choose a Citabria for more fun during training or a Cirrus if you plan to fly it after obtaining a certificate.

What percentage of your students pass their checkride on the first try?
90% on average

Additional Comments:
