Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?
It is amazing to be able to fly. I want to help others experience that same thrill. There is nothing quite as rewarding as watching your student get their wings.

How long have you been instructing?
I became a CFI in 2010.

Do you tend to favor PAO or SQL, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time?
I consider PAO to be my home airport but travel to SQL on occasion.

How would you describe your availability in general?
Best availability is early mornings and weekdays.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
Students learn in different ways, some like classroom environments, others prefer self-study or an online course. I work with students to determine what methods work best for them.

What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in?
Hands down my favorite aircraft is the Cirrus SR22. I am a CSIP dual certified in Avidyne and Perspective.

What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student?
I learned in a Cessna 172 and would recommend that to just about anyone. It is a great training aircraft. But climb in the pilot seat of a few trainers, see how it feels, check out the visibility, one will capture your heart.

What percentage of your students pass their checkride on the first try?
With instrument students my pass rate is 95% on the first try. With private students it is about 90%.

Additional Comments:
As a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot I am factory trained and audited by Cirrus. I am dual certified for instruction in Avidyne and Perspective avionics. If you would like to experience the Cirrus difference, please give me a call.
