9. Improves crosswind landing skills.
8. The airplane has a stick instead of a steering wheel.
7. Beautiful view out both sides of the airplane.
6. Most aerobatic airplanes have tailwheels.
5. Citabrias are cheap to rent or buy.
4. You can't see the instructor behind you.
3. Tailwheel airplanes are good on grass or dirt.
2. No checkride involved.

And the #1 Reason You Should Get Your Tailwheel Endorsement Is……

1. IT'S FUN !

Besides regular flight training and checkouts, I enjoy flying with club members on expeditions. Your first flight beyond a few hundred miles is guaranteed to be a thrill.

Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?
Teaching flying is fun and rewarding. I have met many interesting people through flying. Also, I really like the view.

How long have you been instructing?
I have been a pilot since 1986 and a flight instructor since 1998. I was the West Valley Flight Instructor of the Year for 2003.

How would you describe your availability in general?
If you have not flown with me before, please call or email to discuss your flying goals before scheduling a flight.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
I recommend taking the written test before starting a new rating. The most efficient way to pass written tests is to study books on your own or attend West Valley's ground school. I am happy to help students with any questions they have about ground school subjects.

What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student?
I recommend the Citabria or Cessna 152.

Additional Comments:

Let's go fly a loop! A few aerobatic flights will increase your flying confidence and enjoyment. Warning: Aerobatics is addictive and may be hazardous to your wealth.

Phase Check Info: If I am assigned to be your phase check pilot I charge either my rate or your instructor's published rate, whichever is lower. Please email or call before scheduling a phase check.
