Paolo Resmini

A little about me: I grew up in Palo Alto, and travelled quite a distance (across the street!) to Stanford for a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science. After the whole dot-com boom, I settled down as a software engineer for a small company in San Francisco, but later decided aviation was my true passion. Check out my website www.norcalflight.com to get to know me a little better!

If I'm not flying I'm either:
-kitesurfing, hiking, or running
-spending time with my wife and son
-flying my remote controlled plane

Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?
Teaching has always been a passion of mine. It makes sense to combine my love of flying with my joy in teaching. I find teaching a student a new skill is as rewarding as learning the skill myself.

Do you tend to favor PAO, SQL, HWD or E16, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time?
I teach out of Palo Alto and San Carlos. They are both equal distance from where I live, so it makes no difference for me.

How would you describe your availability in general?
I am a full-time instructor. I teach Monday-Friday as well as every other Sunday. I usually have time to fit in a new student, but if I can't, I'll help you find someone who accomodates your schedule.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
I believe this depends on the student. Some like home study courses which can be done at a self determined pace, while others enjoy the structure and camaraderie of a classroom setting. Alternatively I can teach everything to the student, but I find this is not the most cost effective option.

What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in?
I'm slightly biased here. I'm 6 1/2 feet tall so I prefer to teach in the Cessna 172 (the 4 seat sibling of the 152) or the Piper aircraft. The 152 is a great training plane as well, just requires some Yoga in the morning for me to get into it...:). Additionally, the Tailwheel aircraft are a great way to get into a fun plane at a reasonable cost.

Additional Comments:

Flying can be one of the greatest thrills and most rewarding experiences a person can have. I've been flying since the age of 14 and I still get a kick out of a good landing. Over the years I've learned many things but each flight brings new experiences and different challenges... that's what's so great!

If you want to learn to fly, or need to brush up on your skills, I can help you reach your goals. I can teach private and commercial students as well as do aircraft checkouts and biennial flight reviews. I am a full-time certified flight instructor and fly Monday - Friday, and every other Sunday but try to accommodate different schedules as best I can.

Be sure to check out my website at www.norcalflight.com. If you have any questions feel free to email or call. Blue skies!
