Paul McDonald

I am a Bay Area native, raised on Bay Farm Island just west of the runways at OAK. I now live in Pleasanton with my wife Charissa and our two boys, Ryan and Michael. My non-aviation interests include guitar and SCUBA diving.

Professionally, I am a captain flying Gulfstream G-IV and G-V corporate jets worldwide out of SJC. I fly World War II fighters for a collector out of LVK. I also provide flight instruction part-time, specializing in aerobatics, tailwheel transition, unusual attitude recovery training, formation flight, and warbird training.

I learned to fly at OAK in 1984 from Lou Fields in Citabrias. I competed in International Aerobatic Club contests prior to joining the military. After serving as a pilot in the US Air Force, I returned to the Bay Area and flew full-time as a flight instructor and as a banner-tow pilot in Stearman biplanes out of OAK. I owned and operated a flight school at LVK that specialized in sport aviation with an all-tailwheel fleet.

It's a pleasure to be a part of the unique WVFC warbird and aerobatic programs.
