Lorena Kniaz

After earning my college degree I have tried different paths career wise. But I never felt so involved with any of those 'careers' as I felt when I started my path of becoming a pilot. I have been a pilot since 2004 and got all my ratings at West Valley. I enjoy flight instructing because it's a great way of sharing my knowledge and passion for aviation with my students. When I am not flying I work as an English-Spanish translator. I speak three languages, English, Spanish and French and love to travel.

Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?
Because I like helping people realize their dream of becoming pilots.

Do you tend to favor PAO, SQL, HWD or E16, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time?
I teach out of San Carlos and Palo Alto. If you want to fly with me out of Hayward we could figure out a way to fit that in my schedule.

How would you describe your availability in general?
I am available during regular business hours. If you need to schedule me within 24 hours, I ask that you call me ahead of time.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
Ground schools are a great way to save you money, but on the other hand if you don't have enough time to attend a ground school I can go over the ground material with you.

What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in?
I personally like Cessna 172SPs because they have light control pressures and because they are newer. On the other hand, if you want to save money it's fine to fly a Cessna 172 or a Cessna 152.
