I flew Air Force Jets and then became an instructor so that I could continue the joy of aerobatic flying. I have flown with thousands of personalities from around the world and enjoy the personal contacts. I get great satisfaction fixing bad flying habits.

Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?
Because it's the most important job in aviation.

How long have you been instructing?
15 years.

Do you tend to favor PAO, SQL, HWD or E16, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time?
I'll teach anywhere in the country.

How would you describe your availability in general?
Gone a week and home a week. I fly business jets leaving on Sundays and returning on Saturdays.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
Pass the test and never stop learning.

What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in?
Whatever aircraft you fly, knowing the full range of its capabilities and flying confidently is essential.

What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student?
If you learn the wrong habits and keep practicing those techniques you are going to be dangerous - and not even know it! Like any other industry you get what you pay for. Fly with experienced instructors as much as you can. Learn the intricate art of flying first. Be sure to fly some tail wheel aircraft so you really learn to "feel" the aircraft. Pushing buttons is secondary to flying the aircraft first. Think US Airways in the Hudson river!

What percentage of your students pass their checkride on the first try?
100% so far.

Additional Comments:
I look forward to our first flight!
