It combines the challenge of learning and perfecting a new skill while assuming sole responsibility for the safety of oneself and of others. How long have you been instructing? Since September 2003. Do you tend to favor PAO, SQL, HWD or E16, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time? I live closer to San Carlos Airport (SQL), but I will teach at either. It all depends on what is most convenient for the student. SQL is not as busy as PAO, so student can save time and money on taxiing and pattern work. How would you describe your availability in general? I'm a full time instructor and generally I am available 24/7. Give me a call or schedule me on CASSi. What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus? Depending on the person, supervised home study, WVFC ground school, or other methods are all appropriate to pass the written test. We will do ground lessons to cover what is not in the books. What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in? Cessna C-152, C172 or Piper PA28-161, PA28-181. Students should try a couple of different types to see which one is most comfortable for them. What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student? C-152 (money saver) or PA28-161 for Private Pilot Certificate, C-172SP - for Instrument Rating. |
