Mehdi Dalvand
I've been a member of West Valley Flying Club since December of 2000, and started my flight training out of SQL. I have done all of my ratings at West Valley. I have degrees in architecture and structural engineering. My day job is designing commercial and residential structures. I enjoy flying for any reason, and love to take long cross country trips. I highly recommend training at WV because of the large variety and availability of airplanes. I grew up across the bay and moved to the peninsula for work. When I'm not flying, I enjoy riding my motorcycles and going to the movies. I also enjoy spending time with family, and travel with my wife. I am available to discuss any questions or concerns you have about flight training.

Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?
Love to share the freedom that flying brings with people who have the same interest.

Do you tend to favor PAO, SQL, HWD or E16, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time?
I'm available at all locations; just need a heads up when scheduled out of HWD.

How would you describe your availability in general?
I'm mostly open after 4:30 PM during the week and all day on the weekends.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
West Valley offers a ground school course for private pilot rating. MS Aviation & King's DVD courses are also very good.

What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student?
Either a Cessna 172 or a Warrior, but it's all up to the student as to how comfortable they are in each.
