Why are you a Certified Flight Instructor?
I love flying and teaching. I'm not instructing to accumulate hours, and plan to instruct for many years to come.

How long have you been instructing?
10 years

Do you tend to favor PAO, SQL, HWD or E16, and how might it affect a student's ability to schedule time?
I favor PAO due to the proximity of my home but I'm more than happy to travel to both San Carlos and Hayward.

How would you describe your availability in general?
7AM-11PM Monday to Saturday. I generally like to take Sundays off, but can make exceptions if the circumstances require it.

What method of ground school do you prefer and how does it relate to your syllabus?
I recommend the WVFC ground school, but like to add a lot of additional information that cannot be fit into the limited time provided by these classes.

What is your favorite aircraft to instruct in?
Cessna 172 or 172SP. A classic training airplane. Great reliable engine, comfortable interior, decent visibility. For those who already have a license, definitely the Cirrus SR20/SR22. I have one of these planes on the line at West Valley. Everytime someone gets out of the plane they'll be saying WOW!

What are your aircraft recommendations for a new student?
Either the C172/172SP or Piper Archer/Warrior.

What percentage of your students pass their checkride on the first try?
All but three to date.
