Hearst Castle - May 25-26, 1997 This was my first "overnight" flight with my wife. We flew down the central valley to the city of San Luis Obispo, a little more than half way to Los Angeles. We parked the plane, picked up a rental car and drove up scenic highway 1 to a little oceanside hotel. That night we took the evening tour of Hearst Castle. We've decided that the evening tour is the best. The following day after a walk on the beach we headed back to the airport. We flew out up the coast and took a spin around Hearst Castle from the air. Then we cut in towards the valley and flew over Salinas and then up the coast, flying just past the Santa Cruz Beach Boradwalk before heading home. |
