A small but happy group flew to the Gold Country town of Columbia on July 16. After waiting out the overcast at PAO, we arrived in picturesque former mining town about 50 minutes later, just in time for lunch! We toured the old town, visited the museum and got a glimpse of the real “old west.” Ann Elsbach, Faith Fraser and Margaret Pratt flew over in the Maule. Vicki Vickers hitched a ride with Craig Prouse in his beautiful, barely out-of-the-box 182.

We were sorry that several people didn't come because the cloud cover over the Sunol pass was a bit too low for some, although the wx in Columbia and across the valley was gorgeous.
